I Fell In Love With Our Friendship

It started slow
We barely spoke
But, somehow I always knew
There’s going to be a tale

I could connect with you
In ways, I didn’t before
There was a fire in the eyes
That I wished to drown in

Slowly, we fell in a routine
We laughed, smiled and talked some more
I shared my secrets and so did you
And I knew the bond is true

Friends we were, and good ones too
You could make me smile when I didn’t want to
I ached to hear from you
I ALWAYS wanted to talk to you

Friendship is a silly thing
You LOVE your friends and
Yet, sometimes you are scared to say
The feelings that you keep in heart
Because, you are scared, things would break apart

I do not know if I am in LOVE
I have no way to understand
But, all I know
And all I will say

I fell in LOVE with our friendship
I do not know what you think of me
Am I just another “she”
But, I know there’s something in between
So, I will forever LOVE our friendship

It may not be the forever lover’s love
But, it is strong, fierce and pure
You fall for your friends
Because friendship is LOVE
